Even if you're not into social networking, Facebook is a great place to find deals. Oftentimes manufacturers offer high-value coupons on their site, or give away samples of new products. I like to use free samples I've received for my 72-hour kits. I think it's worthwhile to set up an account for these reasons, even if you have no intention of ever adding any friends or telling anyone you're on facebook. If you really don't want anyone to find you, just sign up under an assumed name. Sigh up here:
